Confrontations:

This exhibition presents works in a variety of techniques by Israeli artists, and works from the graphic art collection by international artists from Europe, the US and elsewhere. Most of the works are from the second half of the twentieth century until the present day - years in which the Museum was active since its establishment in 1951. The confrontations in the exhibition appear in various planes. These include the encounter between "here" and "there", a tension that has accompanied the discourse of Israeli art from its earliest stages. This confrontation exists alongside encounters of different trends and approaches, which are often contradictory: the rational and intellectual as opposed to the emotional and expressive, the spontaneous as opposed to the planned, geometric as opposed to organic, linear as opposed to coloristic, material as opposed to spiritual, political as opposed to personal.
