Through the concept of “Dirty Geometry” Osvaldo Romberg undermines the rigid, imposed rule of geometry, dominating the world from the beginning of the 20th century.“Dirty Geometry” questions different aspects of American, Russian, and European abstract art, such as the imposition of polished finish on paintings, the clean compositions and the purity of its lines, the classical application of color inherited from the Bauhaus School, Concrete Art, etc. “Dirty Geometry” is a rebellious attempt to break from all theoretical frameworks and thus invent a geometry that would be free from theory.
